As you can imagine, each proofreading or editing project is unique in size and complexity, and my services are bespoke according to the client's wishes. Therefore, when it comes to giving a quote for proofreading a manuscript, it is impossible to give a ballpark, one-size-fits-all price.
Before quoting on a manuscript edit, I will need to know the word count and the schedule in which you need the work completed. It would also be helpful if you could send me a sample of your manuscript, perhaps a chapter or just a few pages, so that I can gauge how much work will be involved. I will then provide a free sample edit to show you how I work. That way, you can decide whether my style suits you etc. (For student/academic proofreading, I have a fixed fee level of pricing. Please read through my student proofreading section.)
Payments can be made in GBP online via direct banking, or by Paypal (which will include Paypal fees). My bank details will be set out in my invoice. I normally require half payment as a deposit when I begin. The second half would be payable upon completion of work. Alternatively, I am happy to break payments down into quarter instalments. Do contact me if you require any further information.
