Proofreading prices

For manuscript proofreading or copy-editing, I charge a fee based on the word count and the amount of editing required. As every project is unique, my charges are bespoke. Feel free to send me a chapter or a few pages of your manuscript so that I can provide a free sample edit. I will then get back to you with my quote and estimated turnaround.

For student and academic proofreading , I charge a standard discounted proofreading fee of £7 per 1000 words. For documents (dissertations, theses etc) of 20,000 words and over my fee reduces to £6.50/1000 words.

Minimum charge – documents under 1,000 words will be charged at a flat rate of £12.

For very long documents, such as a PhD thesis, please contact me for a quote. 

For fees up to £120 I will require full payment before work commences. 

For fees of £120 and over, I will require half payment as a deposit when work commences, the other half will be payable when final work is completed and sent to you.
